Leaking Hydraulic Lippert slideout

We have a Forest River Wildcat 2012 302RL 5th Wheel and the hydraulic slideout is leaking between the pump and the reservoir when you put it in and out. Dealer wants around $1,000 to replace pump and labor. It might just be an o-ring. Dealer told us that the manufacturer does not sell a seal kit. Anyone replace the seal between the two? Where did you get the seal?

OK, we can. I guess we were just told by the RV dealer Lippert didn’t sell a seal kit on Friday.

Find a hydraulic repair shop. O-rings are pretty standardized. As are hydraulic seals. It's not very often you come across something proprietary anymore.

I second that statement. There was no rebuild kit for my front levelers on my Class A. The rear kits were 165+ ea. I went to a hydraulic shop... 10.00 later no leaks... Pull the part and take it with you.

Hubby replaced the O ring from a tractor supply place. It is still leaking but only when you move the hydraulic slideout in and out. Not when sitting, which doesn’t make sense. We called Lippert, there was a 5-year warranty on it, been six years. He said to get some Orange Permatex and seal it, let it sit for 24 hours, re-fill it and try that. Lippert would not sell us just their O ring. Can’t see any sign that the reservoir is cracked.

There is a " mechanic in a can " called Granville Strut Seal and the airplane industry has used for a long time . I know you can get from supplier Aircraft Spruce in Ca.

I had a leaking jack on out hydraulic leveling system. I coated the ram (jack leg) with Lucas Oil power steering leak seal. I ran the jack up and down once and the leak stopped and never leaked again after several cycles. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a slide ram, if the leak is at the joint of the ram and body of the unit.

Its been around a long long time & works. I had my front strut overhauled after about 5 years with Granville in the fluid & only because of another issue.

Leaking Hydraulic Lippert slideout

Replaced O ring. Still leaking when we bring in slideout. Hubby thinks it is leaking in the back of the pump around a big nut. Think we can rebuild that pump or buy an after market pump? We want to sell the 5th wheel and don’t want to spend $1000 for a new Lippert hydraulic pump.

Update: Pulled the hydraulic pump out of there and another O ring. Replaced that and everything else looked good. No leaks so far and put the slideout in and out over 20 times. Hopefully, that is it! Thanks to everyone for your comments.
