We recently looked at a couple of Lifestyle 5th wheels. We were very impressed by the units, but the CCC just wasn't there. We are full-timers and need at least 3,000 lb.

Although the weights shown in the catalog looked like some floor plans might be OK for CCC, those weights don't include options. The one we looked at on the dealer's lot had a CCC around 2,100 lb. That included most, but not all the options we would have wanted, and it was with the water tanks completely empty. Adding a few more options and 1/4 tank of fresh water would have left us with only about half the CCC we need.

That is not correct. I have a new LS36FW and the GVW on the trailer is 19,300. Dry is listed at 13,500 although I am sure that does not include all options but any way you add it up I cannot imagine that you could ever over load the 5th wheel based on these numbers. Have not weighed it yet but I will soon.

BTW - I could not be happier with the Lifestyle. You should look into and research them. I think you will agree.

I should have mentioned that I ungraded the 8k axles and 17.5" tires and wheels which is a contributors to the increased listed GVW.

Very happy with ours. It is basically a carry over from the old Carriage company with some tweaking and refinements. We loved the solid quality of our Carriage and the Lifestyle is the same. We scaled our rig on a recent 3 night trip which is indicative of most of our trips. The rig weighted 15300 lbs and the pin weight is 3400 lbs as we travel. Our GVWR is 18900 with the 8k axle upgrade and 17.5" wheels/tires.
Floor plan choices are limited for 2015 thus far and all will be 101 inches wide. Phillip

The Lifestyle we looked at was a LS38RS. The GVWR was 16,750 and the CCC was 2,130 lb. I specifically recorded these weights so we could remember them later because we really liked the Lifestyle and seriously were considering it.

Most of the net carrying capacities listed in the catalog run around 3,000 lb. These are based on dry weights and do not include ANY water or options.

Did Evergreen increase the GVWR on the sticker when you upgraded the axles and tires?

Paz,

Yes. The sticker listing the CCC on the unit is now at 19,300 lbs.

Going by the catalog weights and the weight we saw on a unit in stock on a dealer's lot, the Lifestyle did not look like it would have enough CCC for us. Had I known spending a few extra $$ to upgrade the axles and tires would have increased the GVWR, we would have considered the Lifestyle more seriously.

Lifestyle Owners Good Luck
Had a chance to look at a used 2014 Lifestyle. The unit DID NOT PASS a simple Walk around or walk through inspection. Owner abuse unnoticeable.
It was a Factory engineering, workmanship & inspection Failure.
For the PRICE please. Good Luck Owners.

Rbuttolph,

Your post is puzzling??? Just picked mine up at a dealer near the plant and took the factor tour. The tour really pointed out the quality, especially of the detail below the surface. It is hard to imagine that in a short period of they would have been able to correct all the faults and failures that you say would have contributed to the unit not passing inspection. These conditions do not exist on the unit I recent took delivery of and I do not hear evidence of this on their forum of such.

All I can say is I have been extremely please with the quality and engineering of the Lifestyle. I have had three motorhomes and have a good idea of what quality is in an upscale 5th wheel.
