Lippert Hydraulic Landing Leg

I've got one that leaks from time to time. It appears to be leaking from piston/ram area, not one of the lines. Anyone had one of these rebuilt by a hydraulic shop? I'm not seeing any repair guidance from Lippert online, but I assume is just a standard hydraulic ram. Am I mistaken?

My friend who is a dealer says it’s cheaper to replace it with a new one rather than rebuild it.

I was surprise when Lippert told me that they don't sell seal for the jacks you need to replace the hole thing.

I have heard good reports on Roberts, just have to go to IN and be prepared to get on a waiting list before you go. He stays real busy, I also hear.
I may be faced with this trip myself before long.

I went to Robert last May to get the front jacks rebuilt on our 2014 MS 38RSSB3. They accomplish the job in one day but it isn't cheap. $1522 for the job. Front jacks have worked just fine since then.

Are you saying $1522 for rebuilding two jacks? That seems a little excessive. I called them, but no answer.

That's frigging highway robbery. I've rebuilt countless cylinders in my lifetime. At the most the seals and wipers for two cylinders would be $100.

Find a reputable hydraulic shop.

Well, what do you think is a fair charge to remove and replace both cylinders?

I am not an RV tech, but am a master auto tech. I've have however done a bit of RV work for my regulars ..I rebuilt a single rear cylinder on a 38' Winnebago and took less than 2 hours - including r&r,cleanup & bleeding. Not sure about parts cost since he had the kit himself but labor was under $200.

Apparently, easier to do this on a MH than on a fiver--how did you get enough clearance to drop the leg down to get it out of the frame? On my Suites, even raising the trailer high as possible still requires quite a pit/hole below the leg to get enough room to drop it down and out.

Very possibly easier. Just relating my experience doing something similar. On this one I diconnected hydraulics and collapsed ram. Gave me enough room to rotate out with a little lifting at frame.
