hydraulic lippert slideout pump leaking. It seems to be coming from where the fluid tank is fasten to the motor. I am thinking it is the o-ring. Has anyone had this problem? if so how did you go about fixing and did it stop the leak?

I just fixed the same pump. It only was leaking when hauling. I used a 4.25 " 3/16 oring. It is very hard to remove the tank. I had to take the pump loose from the pan and it took 30 minutes. I messed up the first time and got the wrong oring. It was 4.5". The next time I changed it out I used extensions on my rachet so the handle was pasted the end of the tank. It took about 5 minutes to pump out remove and install and fill. Make sure your handle is past the tank and it's quick.

Important..There is no need to bleed the lines. The air goes out the breather.( slides in and out a couple times fixes it) With the slides in fill to about 1 inch below the top and you can declare victory on it. Mike sure you clean or install a magnet to the metal part of the filter. Let me know how it goes.
Use ATF +4 syn. A little more than 2 quartes.

Thanks to those who posted to this thread. My father in laws 2002 Montana was leaking hydraulic oil at the plastic reservoir too. I ordered o rings from Grainger (Item # 1KLV1) and changed it out today. Not a bad job, sucked out the oil from the reservoir, w/a long extension removed the 4 bolts and reservoir came off the motor/pump assy. The new o ring was somewhat thicker, not sure if was a larger o ring or the old one had shrunk but had to loosen the square aluminum block mounted on top of the pump to allow a tad more clearance to get it to fit in the pump housing groove.

Hi Don... It's been a couple years since I posted my fix for the leak. I never did get it to stop leaking. Those pumps cost between $1000 and 1200. I searched all over the web for a cheap one and found the exact pump and tank from RV Upgrades. Dont remember the cost but I think it was around $300, I called the OEM and they said that RV upgrades buys so many the get the low price. If it is not leaking today, go buy a swimming pool noodle (flotation ) for kids. Reduce vibration. Cut some pieces and insert under tank. There is an aftermarket tank out there, I just dont remember where.
