Smile locating ceiling joists

We have an 07 Keystone Challenger and I would like to install a hanging tiffany lamp between the kitchen and the living room. We havent stayed in it over night yet because of the weather. Can I locate the aluminum joists with a regular 'stud finder' or is their another tool I need. Thanks in advance for your help.

Look for a seam in the ceiling, they "should" be every 16". but that will give you an idea where to knock.

I put track lighting over the counter in my Keystone Montana. If you go to Home Depot/Lowes etc. you can buy an inexpensive electronic stud finder, I think I paid less than $15. It found all the structural members in the ceiling as well as the walls for other things. It also works good at home. It made the job very easy.
