Looking at on-line photos that 5th wheel uses Atwood Water Heaters

Being a 2000 year model you can replace with a 'gas' only model ----easy direct swap
BUT if combo unit (electric and gas model) you will need to do some electrical modifications/installation-----not real complicated. DC circuit changes/AC power supply/new control switches etc.
In 2004 Atwood made design changes (6 gal/10 gal/XT models) and older combo models are no longer available

G6a-8E is a gas only (10 gal would be G10a-3E)
GC6a-10E...electric/gas combo (10 gal would be GC10a-4E)

Water Heaters - Atwood Mobile----OEM Info

Atwood RV Water Heaters----examples/pricing

Just a matter of figuring out which one you want.
OEM was probably a 6 gal combo unit
