I have a set of Bridgestone LT 245/75R16 Load Range E V-Steel RIB 265 that I took off my 07 Chevy Truck. I would like to use these on my 5th wheel if its safe and pratical...! I have twin Axles and carry a weight on the rear of 11,300 lbs. These tires show a load rating at 3042 lbs per tire or 12,164 lbs total for the trailer...

Anybody have any thoughts on this???

Thanks, ls

LT tires are quiet common on large fifth wheels today. ST tires do not have anywhere near the carrying capacity for todays large trailers, so the switch to LT tires. Depending on what size you are taking off, you could have a clearence problem

I am sorry but I did not realize that this was my first post as I have been a member for some time now but I am always on the hitchhikers owner site as I own a HH DA...

Thanks Donn for the reply. I would tend to believe that it is ok to use these tires but wanted to get some consensus... fyi, the 11300 lbs is from the CAT scales...

Will the additional 1/2" of tire width be of any concern with the inside clearance?

You will definitely be up against the tires weight limits. what size load range tires are on there now? No matter what I would never go down in load rating.

The LT tires are not a problem, the weight rating is something to look at though. You need to keep a margin for safety.

LT tires are the way to go. Most all trailer tires are made overseas and are junk.
