Time for new tires and I'm going back and forth with the Michelin LTX A/T 2 or the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. I've read a few post on tires, and it's hard to get a feel on recent recommendations. I see Michelin had a recall on LTX tires but, not in my size range. I need something in AT because we have a dirt ranch road we drive on when not towing the 5'ver and we do travel north in October and we like driving the back roads in Colorado during visits. The original tires are Firestone LT275/70/R18 and are the worst tires I've ever had. I could probably complain to Firestone and get them replaced for free but, don't want them on the truck.

We went with Michelin's ..... even on or 5er. Year 1 and so far so good.

I tried the GY Kevlar belted tires on my dually and wound up taking them off. Never could get the tires to ride smooth on the dually. Michelins LTX M/S2 works great.

Go with Michelin Ribs. The best tire out there.

I've had it w/ Michelin tires - 2 reasons.
1- I replaced all 4 tires(date code 3 yrs old) on my F350 due to excessive deep(visible metal) checking on all 4 tire sidewalls. Michelin stated the checking was acceptable. I pull a 5er w/a GVWR of 18500. I wasn't willing to risk a tire problem while crossing the US. I changed over to Firestone for the truck.
2- Our camper has been setup in MT at a campground since May (campground hosts). One of the camper tires (Michelin, J load, 215/75R17.5 xta, 4 yrs old) blew out a sidewall while sitting, suspended. Again, michelin stated not warrantable. I purchased 4 Toyo tires w/ H load rating

Note: Prior to this I've had nothing but michelin's on my cars, trucks & campers. No more!

Very happy with my Goodyear's. We've done 14,000 miles in 5 months and the Wranglers still look new. I also have G rated Goodyear's on the trailer and they're doing great, too.

Curious, what did the OE tires do or perform wrong or so poorly to earn your dislike?

Were they A/T or H/T? Do you get better mpg with the tires you put on after taking the stones off?

I went with Michelin ltx ms 2 . They increased my payload as well. Very happy with them

If your LTX MS2 have more load capacity then you changed the size or Load Range & Inflation.

What type & size were your OE tires?
What Type, size & LR ate the new tires?

The premier tires for 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks are the Michelin LTX M/S or Bridgestones. Goodyear tires for trucks don't have the highest reputation.

I put Bridgestone Duravis R250's on my fifth wheel trailer when it was new, and I'm very, very impressed with the tire's quality ($197 each). They also make a Duravis R500 tread which the manager at Costco told me were absolutely incredible tires--with more of a road tread than my R250' ribbed tires.

My F250 SuperDuty has had 2 sets of Firestone OEM tires and a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's--all about the same quality. I've switched to the Michelin LTX M/S tires, and they're very impressive.

The truck came with firestone transforce ht 275/70r18 and I only got 16000 mile out of them before I felt uncomfortable. The wear and tread coming off the edge, and they seem to slip on wet surface a little more that I feel they should.
