Mid bunk brands

We have a 30 foot 5th wheel rear bunk room camper right now. We are looking to go to a mid bunk room 35-40 foot 5th wheel for a growing family. I would like to purchase a good quality camper that will last us a while. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Jayco Pinnacle is a nice mid bunk model that I have seen firsthand, but I am certain there are numerous choices out there.

The Columbus 377MBC has been my favorite so far. I’m also looking at these but there’s not a lot out there in Utah.

Very happy so far with our new KZ Durango Gold 382MBQ. Its a mid bunk with loft above and patio deck in back.

Before that we had a Bayview 374 REBH also a mid bunk. They did not make too many of them, but they were well built, had a nice floor plan, and can be bought at a good price these days. Might even find a new one still on a lot somewhere.

In addition to the others mentioned above, Jayco North Point and Grand Design also have some nice mid bunks as well.

I have the same questions....so many brands with mid-bunk rooms/loft features for families. There are models by Montana, Grand Design, Jayco models, Cedar Creek, Cardinal...etc....you name it!! Who knows which way to go or even a good dealer to back you up?? Possibly coming from the Class A diesel world...

I'm in the same buying situation as you. I made my own list here that includes all the bunk models I've found 2016 or newer. I'm sure I've missed plenty, and some of them (but not many) are rear bunk models. I'm new to the RV world so I can't really give any advice to go with the list. Also this hasn't been double checked, so pardon any mistakes there might be.

Another question for this thread. What are you planning on towing with. I’d like to keep it to a 3500 SRW but I’m worried with most of the tongue weights around 2200 and up to 2900 for the Solitude.

We pull a 2019 Keystone Sprinter Limited 3571FWLFT with an F350 Crew Cab SWD gasser with no issues. Ours is just under 40', but handles nicely at Interstate speeds (62-64mph). My pin weight is around 2600 loaded plus another 300lbs for the B&W slider hitch. Overall we love our 5er. The floor plan of the mid-bunks are great!

See if you can find a good used Grand Design Reflection 323BHS. It's 36' with 4 slides and an outside kitchen. Weighs 11k lbs. dry with 2K lbs. kingpin weight. I'm pulling mine with a properly prepared 3/4 ton diesel--but max'd out at that.

This model doesn't have the second bath/half bath which is just something else to have to dump and clean up. The quality is also very good. The bunkhouse has 2 beds on one side and a leather J bed and a drop down bed on the other--sleeping 4-5 close friends.

Can the bottom bunk be removed in this temporarily or is it bolted to the floor? We would need to be able to put a crib in there for a couple years.

Good Quality? Mid Bunk? Here you go:

That is the uppermost of the price spectrum though...I want this for myself, but it is way out of my price range LOL
