Question Model/Mfg Recommendation for 5th Wheel with Loft/office/den

Hi All,

My wife and I are switching from Class A to a higher end 5th wheel. Looking for Mfg/Model recommendations to include the following:

1. A separate office/den that can be isolated with door - we are looking at the Jayco/Pinnacle/MQDS - with a Loft (grand children) and it has a Den underneath. The loft would be secondary, need a room that is separated from other spaces for working, conference calls etc.

2. 4 Season - down to Zero or lower - Jayco says they are good down to Zero

3. Just bought a Ford F350 6.7L Diesel with 5th wheel prep and towing prep hopefully didn't under buy

4. High quality fit and finish

We are starting to look at what DRV has

Any recommendations and actual experience with certain brands would be much appreciated.

Ray

DRV is a good choice, my .02.
They are a full time unit for full time. My Dutchman Voltage has the insulation package for 3 season.... except for the back where it is metal to the outside.

Here is a very nice Mid Den floor plan. Grand Design & KZ Durango Gold also have mid den floor plans.

I've often looked at toyhaulers and wondered - even with a motorcycle in the back - there would be plenty of room for my office in that area - and you can get them airconditioned etc.

Long though.

I just got the GF a high quality set of headphones so she doesn't have to listen to all my conference calls.....

OP--any updates on your search? We have been looking for the same config. Have seen grand design reflection 367, Montana 370, heartland big horn, and stopped looking when we saw the jayco northpoint 377rlmb. For us it is the best combination of features/quality/value. Obviously the price point is below the pinnacle and not even in the same class as the DRV. I was just curious on your findings as the 2017 are going fast.

Ray, you didn't under buy unless the payload on that truck is under 5000 and hopefully more! Check out Landmark! I'm sure you can find bad things about every higher-end fifth wheel made. We have a 2017 Landmark Newport and after several months and a few thousand miles across the USA and on really bad roads it's held up well, nothing loose, falling apart etc. Take this for what it's worth. Good luck!

We looked at GD as well. Didn't think they were as well built as Landmark, which we have, but Landmark doesn't have that floor plan you want, den/loft etc. I don't think. KZ imho on par with GD. Jayco was nice as well but for us we liked the Full-Time warranty from Heartland, whatever that actually means, if you need that. DRV was out of our price range so didn't look at them much. There's Redwood also, again higher priced, and don't know about their floor plans. Lots of choices but not as many with that floor plan. Get a copy of the Travel Trailer/Fifth Wheel Comparison Guide by Randall Eaton. Lots of great information, doesn't miss anything!

Any of the bunk house models could work. You could remove the bed(s) from the bunk house and have sufficient room to work. They're usually equipped with cabinetry that holds a 32" television and many of the bunkhouse rooms have 1/2 baths.

What I especially like about many bunkhouse fifth wheels is the outside kitchen.
