Model numbers

I notice the model numbers seem to be related to the length of the trailer but not quite?

Case in point, the Arctic Fox 27-5L lists length as 29'5". Others are closer. Maybe that model was originally 27'5"and they stretched it and kept the model#?

Also, that model seems to about the shortest 5er I can find. I'm not necessarily looking for something shorter but curious if there are any.

Situation Normal.

There are *some* smaller 5th's.. like The Escape 5.0TA

But generally, 28 foot for a 5th is just about as short at they come. There's probably some reason for this like distance to wheels making it stable or something of the sort.

Our 28SGS is 31'4" nose to tail... Maybe they measure inside living space.....
It was important to us as we wanted it to fit in our garage... Take a tape measure if its important....

I believe the listed measurement is inside living space. Our Nu-Wa HitchHiker 315 UKTG is 31.5' from the bedroom closet doors to the rear cabinets. Outside length fm kingpin to rear bumper is 33'9".

Model numbers for the most part have nothing to do with length of the trailer. Do not try to figure out length from a model number, use a tape measure.

I suspect the reason has to do with the added cost of the hitch and the fact that people looking for shorter trailers aren't planning long trips and just weekend runs. Maybe? That Eascape would be great for short trips but I could see my wife and I at each other's throats fairly quickly.

Mine is a 255 model and it measured from back bumper to front nose at 26' 4". Measuring without would probably be close to 25
