Montana Wreck

Just watched a video on YuoTube that had a Ram Duelie and a Montana. Montana was on its side and the truck was up right but the drivers side bed crushed.

They had a heck of a time getting it upright.

Anybody know how this happened? Any injuries?

From the comments on You Tube it looks like he was going too fast for the road and weather and lost control.

From the weight police that is not enough truck to pull that 5er. You will need a class 7 or class 8 truck!!

Here's another I'd like to what exactly what happened. Doesn't appear to be a crosswind as it look like a tail wind in the video. Fast Forward the video to about 3:40

Looks like they might have had a blow out on the front jdpm.
Watching it again, looks like they got on the shoulder, and over corrected.

I agree with that last statement. It would be good if we were able to access the law enforcement and/or insurance analysis of the causes for both of those loses.

I’m thinking of taking some safety seminars and even a driving course to just spend time with an instructor asking questions. I have a Class A CDL but it has been sometime since I operate a large vehicle.

HAHAHAHAH.

Dog farted, drivers eyes watered, drifted out of lane, passenger screamed, driver over-corrected. BOOM!

MOST, not all, accidents that are not caused by texting, etc...are caused by over reacting due to lack of actual drivers ed in this country. This one might be from a big wind gust followed by over reacting but that would be just speculation.

I made my 3 children learn how to autocross and be good at it, skid control on snow and ice, proper tire inflation, and about never using old worn out or outdated tires, etc....before I let them take the sorry excuse for "drivers ed".

I watched that video on the Montana site a while back. My best guess is that the Montana started to jackknife on a wet and curvy road and it was all done but the wrecker. The Ram Van was probably just in the wrong place at the wrong time to help finish things off.

Oh well, Keystone makes lots of Montanas. No one was hurt beyond pride, thankfully, and the owner's insurance will handle most of their loss. But it is a heluva way to spend your RVing time.
