I have a 1994 skyline aljo 5th wheel. The microwave beeps and numbers show up in th display all by itself. I would like to replace it but I am having a hard time finding one like it. Anyone know where to look?

When I got my 1997 RV two years ago, the micro was doing similar actions as yours... The touch pad would sometimes work, mostly not at all, and sometimes all by itself. My diagnosis was that there must have been a power surge or something that fowled up the motherboard.

I ended up replacing the unit ( a micro / convection combo ). Luckily, it was a standard size and I was able to find a good one on sale at Best Buy. The hardest part was figuring out how to uninstall the old unit. Once I determined that it was held in place with screws inside the cabinet above the micro, it was pretty easy after that.

DH was thrilled that I did it all while he was at work.

You have a bad connection or part on the control board.

There is NOTHING special about RV microwaves save for some venting. Simply get one the same size, any make or model.. You may have to have a HEVAC shop custom bend some sheet metal for you depending on how yours is installed, but that is about all.

Look at the existing one to see what I mean.

Unless you are convinced you need one exactly like the one you have (to preserve originality); then you are in luck. Replacement Microwave/Convection combos, or just Microwaves are relatively inexpensive, lots to choose from and available all over the place, with warranties in multiple sizes.

There usually is a modest mystery to get the old one out but once you figure that out (if I can you can) then the remainder is easy. Mine was held in by a back brace and screws on the top which were accessible through the cabinet over the Microwave. I think this is pretty standard. Once the screws are out it just tilts down and then you lift it off the brace in back.

1994 is not exactly vintage so the quest to preserve the look, if that is what you are after may take another thinking through. Otherwise have at it.
