Need a Wireless back-up camera?
Our 44 ft DRV is arriving in a couple of weeks and having previously owned a Newmar, & never had a 5th wheel, I'll be lost without one.
Wireless would be awesome if anyone has recommendations????

I just installed this Tadi Brothers camera in my Monaco 40PLQ. Easy install. Only drove it to my storage facility and so far it looks good. I am heading out this weekend for a 5 hour road trip and can report back Sunday or Monday.

Thanks!
Let me know how it performs as the 5th wheel we are getting is 44 ft then the signal has to get an additional 8 to 10 feet to the truck cab.

I am also curious on this monitor as well. I have a question on the transmitter wires from the camera. Where do the transmitter and camera connection wires go? It doesn't appear to me from the website that the camera connectors are waterproof, so wondering what is done with them.
Thanx

Love it.

7" Monitor With Wireless Mounted RV Backup Camera

Reporting back after a 600 mile round-trip.
99% of the time the monitor received the picture perfectly fine. Especially out of the road. But on the way out and the way back in, in nearly the same area of Houston there was distortion and the screen went blank/blue.
I will play with the antenna that is under my dash to see if it needs to be angled differently and will also look at the angling of the antenna that is attached to the camera.
Overall, I am please with it. Video quality is decent and certainly serves its purpose. My rig is 40 feet and the monitor is on my dash and the camera is mounted in the top rear of my Monaco inside the housing of the old camera so it is somewhat protected from the elements.

Never heard of a good working wireless system for a long 5ther. They loose signal. Wired systems work.

I have a great wireless that came on my 2015 Blackstone. Trailer is approx. 34 ft and on receiver wdh hitch. Wireless means it is wired into the trailer clearance lights on rear and it has an antenna and the monitor I have on the windshield and also has a small antenna. It plugs into the 12 volt dash plug. This has to be close to 60 ft. Having the lights on is what powers the camera.

I bought a Garmin RV760 LMT that came packaged with a Garmin BC-20 backup cam and a 50' extender cable, all for $409 USD. I mounted the transmitter in my battery box and so far I am very pleased. Great signal, easily adjustable guide marks, easy installation and great value for the package, especially since I've been wanting to get the RV760LMT anyway. I haven't tried it on any long trips, but we're getting ready for a coast-to-coast in August. I would highly recommend this setup.

I have a 30' TT.. I use a $25 ebay camera that mounts on the license plate. Have one on the back of the truck and one on the back of the trailer. A simple run of power wire and RG6 coax for hookup. Each camera video feed goes to a y just before my Edge CTS Monitor but you could use a simple monitor as well. Then I have a 3 way switch on 5he dash that powers one camera or the other. The system works great. I can flip from watching the hitch to behind the trailer in seconds going down the road.

Same here... GPSCity on eBay. Took a few weeks to get the right unit shipped to me but it works fine and I've reduced the clutter on my dash and console by combining the 7" GPS Monitor with the backup camera.
My trailer is 40' long and the transmitter is about 15' from the truck.
The quality of the picture is nothing to write home about but as long as I'm not using it to read a book or the DW to put on her morning face, we should be golden..
Here's a coupla pics - note this was a really bright day and there was some glare on the screen.
I made my own camera mount out of PVC tubing as well..

Congrats on the DRV! It looks like you have already received a great deal of useful information and I'm not sure how much this will matter, but I'm under the impression that the length DRV uses is from the kingpin to the back bumper. Our trailers have that big closet that sticks out two feet past the kingpin, so technically your trailer is 46' long. Whether that two feet will affect your signal or not I'm not sure.
Looking forward to hearing what you go with and how well it works as we will be installing a camera on the back of our "little" 41' (43'?) DRV as well.

Rearview Safety sells great backup camera systems. We have installed their system on both of our 5th wheels. It comes with 7" monitor , a color camera and quick connect/disconnect between truck and 5th wheel. Hard wired to the truck. So powering camera is no problem. Easy to install for your average DIY. Cost $300 plus small ship fee. Stay away from wireless. Lose pic too often. Check them out on the internet.
