Need to replace my awning fabric

My awning fabric is tearing at the top and I need to replace it. What is the most cost effective way to do so? I am handy and can replace it myself but where is the best place to buy? I checked Craigslist and didnt find anything in the RV section. I am in San Antonio TX and called a company that sells RV awnings. They told me that I need to check the spool by rolling the awning out and get some serial numbers. I placed them below. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Excellent V3600. That is a great find for me to put my new fabric on once I find it. Thank you for that!

PPL in Houston should be able to quote new awning fabric for you, or you can price it at your choice of several rv parts outlets on the web. If all else fails Dometic is the manufacturer and has parts available. Good Luck!

Funny you mention this; I just finished replacing both slide toppers and it cost me $53.

DW already has a sewing machine, but I use it for heavy fabric sewing like boat covers, and now, slide toppers.

OK, don't get freaked out. You are making a rectangle, that's all. Double stitch and you're better than factory.

Looks like I saved about $1000 over having a shop do it. Get some 24" zip ties to lock the spring wheel, and you're off and running.

eh, I can't spool a sewing machine bobbin, so you need somebody that can show you the basics.

Look for sunbrella fabric on Amazon. We just replaced some of ours and repaired others with no problem.

I just replaced three slide awnings with Tough Tops best material. Their instructions said it was easy, I talked to the owner on the phone when I ran into some trouble of my own making and he said call back anytime if I need help. Three slide awnings in less than 4 hours, with my own buffoonery making up those first two hours. Great company, great product, and great customer support.

I used them for the replacement fabric for two of our slide toppers. Easy to install and fit perfectly. Much heavier fabric than the original too.

We got a mom and pop shop in Ventura to run one up in the Sunbrella fabric for us.

Google Shadepro.net They replace 100s every year at Quartsite. Nice folks, they have DIY instructions. Mine was 130.00 with free shipping 3 years ago. Give them a call.

shadepro was 199.00 out the door including shipping for heavy duty 15oz vinyl. I am going to check a few other places before I decide. I will place my due diligence here in hopes that it will help the next guy or gal in my situation. Thanks!
