New Battery and Sound System GOOF UP

Maybe others will benefit from my 'not knowing.' We were dry camping at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and my one RV battery died. That was a pain but I bought a new one at a Napa store nearby. We don't do much dry camping.

However, the goof: It appears that when I hit the battery kill switch to off and then installed the new battery my sound system - a typical Jensen we have seen in many campers - reset. Well, it has three buttons for speakers: in living room, add bedroom and lastly to add outside speakers. We arrived at a nice RV Park in Sundance, WYO and was enjoying the TV and sat TV since dry camping a few days and did not realize the show we were watching was nicely loud on the outside speakers. It appears the Jensen when turned off and back on defaults to all speakers!

Oh well, a couple of apologies to our close by neighbors and all is well. But if I ever kill the battery switch again or replace the battery I will check the Jensen sound system! Anything else I need to check?

Thanks for that info. I hate when I am being a jerk and don't even know it. I probably have the same Jensen with the same 3 buttons. I just hope I can remember this when my time comes.

For 12 volt radios this is common behaviour.. There is a way around it but .. I am not up to describing a 12 volt radio UPS for the memory lead today.

But basically it's a diode and a small rechargable battery. A small resistor and another diode may help...(9 volt battery may work depending on the radio).
