New Previous Year Model

Hi All,
What are your thoughts on buying a "new" dealer lot 5th wheeler that is the previous year model vs the current year? Everything seems to be the same except for the year and the few thousand dollar difference in the one I'm looking at. Plan on keeping it for quite a few years, so re-sell doesn't concern me.

Nothing wrong with it, as long as they give you the full warranty package, your getting a new trailer it's just a year older an your saving money. You want to buy and the dealer really, really, really wants to sell his old stock so it's sort of a buyer market in your favor

Most if not all appliance warranty's start from the time you buy the unit and last for at least one year ....

Ask for different tires, "G" rated Goodyear or Sailun unless the unit already has it on...

Lastly do a very good PDI before you sign anything, ours took 4 hours, we opened shut, turned everything, we had them run water in all the sinks and shower while we looked under the sinks, and under belly of the trailer for leaks.

Happy camping and safe travels

Hi BNelson, I'm with ChuckV1 as long as you're getting a deep discount. The warranty should not be effected. Looking at the MSRP you should be able to buy the last year model at 35-45% off MSRP. Oh, they won't jump all over it, and you'll have to play the waiting game with them, but they will come around. Also, don't believe them when they tell you one of the other salesman has a customer that is also interested in it. Of course, you're reply should be you will continue to look around to see what other dealers have. Just take your time, they will call you, and they will sell it. They have to pay interest on it each month it sits there ... they will sell it.

And ... Have Fun Negotiating with them!
