Does anyone have any experience the Sabre from Forest River? We saw the 31RES.

I saw one at the show this weekend and was immediately drawn to the light weight and light price.

Question is, how about the quality of this model?

Apparently they are planning to introduce the 31REDS which will give a king bed, side hallway to bedroom (enclosed bath) free standing dinette and rear angled entertainment center.

I have been leaning towards NuWa, Newmar, New Horizons, Travel Supreme, Alpinelite for their quality, but they don't offer the features listed above until you get up into 34+ and weighing a lot more.

If you have any experience with this new model, I would be very interested to hear your opinions.

Thanks...........Jack

If it's that light, I'd want to know HOW? Generally speaking weight equals better material and quality. Unles they arfe using "FLUBBER", I doubt that they have the same quality as the higher end units you listed.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am not saying that they meet the quality of those listed above. But, it does look like it has the features we are seeking.

That brings up another point..........at what point do you actually see the difference in quality?

I really like the construction of the NuWa and other listed above. And, if I find a potential wall delaminating problem, it would turn me off immediately.

I know Forest River is not "top of the line", but I am expecting use to be 3-5 months a year hauling out west and around the mountain areas.

So, that is why I am trying to get "user" feedback here.

Thank you for your comments.

My cedar Creek is not a top of the line model. I bought it because for the money it had the constructin features I was looking for. It is NOT laminated construction so it can't delaminate. It has a bolted and glued aluminum superstructure. Welding aluminum is tough to do right and from what I see of the workforces putting these things together, I have my doubts. I would have loved to have a heavier frame and if I had to do it over, I would not get a rubber roof. Bright Tec Vinyl or fiberglass. The sub components on these things are all basically the same. I have over 60,000 miles on my fiver and I have had a few issues but nothing major and no structural issues. I have been happy with my Cedar Creek and if I was buying another in that price range I would get another. Also, in those 60K miles, I have not yet not found a campground to put my almost 40' fiver in so you may want to re think your 32' max. Good luck and happy camping.

LoonyBin, As "themisfitking" stated in his post, reconsider the length of your 5th wheel. A couple extra feet in length make a big difference in livability down the road.
