new to this camping thing. rear camera? truck upgrades?
Just purchased a 25' Sabre 5th wheel. Pulling it with a Ram 2500 Diesel 4WD.
Couple questions:
1. The material with the camper says "prewired for rear camera" what does prewired mean power? Video?
2. Do I need to add anything like extra coolers, etc. to my truck?
Thanks

Congratulations on your fifth wheel purchase. I imagine any Cummins will pull a 25 ft. fifth wheel with ease. If your truck has a 5.9 I would consider an exhaust brake if you don't already have one. My PacBrake gives me a lot of peace of mind and added safety.
As far as back up cameras go, my mirrors and spotter wife do a pretty good job.

This means the trailer has the wiring for the camera. normally it only works with the lights on. On mine it is in the center up high on the back of the trailer. I think they just pulled a wire from the running lights, but its there.
get the wireless camera and the display.

On our Trailer 2017 Jayco Eagle the rear camera is not tied to the running lights. Has a separate feed that bypasses the battery shutoff. Camera has a separate power switch in the wet bay to power it off. Not sure why it is bypassing the battery shutoff. One of those things that could drain a battery when not connected to shore power.

Didn't know Sabre made a 25' 5th wheel. I would physically measure it so you don't show up at a campground thinking you'll fit.

Go to 4ucam.com they have a digital camera system for $240 with free shipping. Easy to install. If you have the Furrion system you will need the bracket for $20. Took me about 1 hour to install because I'm slow at doing DIY projects. I love the 7" view screen.

^^^^^ That's the setup we got and I love it. And excellent customer service if need be. And your power for it on the back of the trailer is tied into the lights via your trailer pigtail. On mine, the lights have to be on. Not the running lights and not on "AUTO". They have to be physically turned to the on position. I've forgotten that a couple of times. And that truck will pull it easily.

If you've got the 25RL, it's 28' long. I guess you get 3 free feet!

It's not so much a truck upgrade , but you might consider a tire pressure monitor system for the fifth wheel. Lots of peace of mind in knowing what your tires are doing going down the road.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Just located the spot on the camper for the camera.
about the cameras.....more confused, only because of the choices and cost!
At least I know now that it is not hard wired video.
Thanks again everyone!
