Ok - here goes.

The refig should switch automatically from using LP gas to using electric a few seconds after being plugged it. It should also switch back to using gas if unplugged.

Fresh water drain is under the trailer. If you look under the trailer you should see it hanging down. It will either have a plug that you remove by unscrewing it or a valve that you turn to drain any fresh water from the fresh water tank.

Lots to know.
You have 12V systems and 120V systems.
12V runs the control board on the refr. Then if there is 120V, the refr uses that. If there is no 120V, it uses LP and automatically lights is.

Where are you at? I bet someone would be willing to help walk you through it all.

The Dometic fridges I have had all have a switch next to the On/Off switch to select Auto mode or gas mode. In Auto mode it will run on A/C whenever available otherwise gas. If Auto mode is off then it will run only on gas.

Some more help. The trailer has usually two 12v batteries that supply power to the 12v equipment. When the trailer isn't plugged in, the batteries supply power. When the trailer is plugged in, the converter supplies power to the 12v equipment and charges the batteries.

One thing to do when you change the LP tanks, is to light the stove and let it run a few minutes to purge the system of any air that got in while changing tanks. This will help the refrigerator start on LP. If the refrigerator does not light in a certain amount of time, it will go into an error mode and show an error on the control panel. Simply turn the refrigerator off for about a minute then back on. It should start normally then.

When you are draining the fresh water tank, it might be wise to open the filler cap to allow air in just in clase the vent that is in the area is plugged. You also might want to sterlize the water system before using it. Look in the manual and it will tell you how much bleach to use to sterlize the system.

When you unplug the trailer, if the trailer battery is good, in a few seconds you should hear the refrig gas burner kick on.
You will see a large plastic vent on the side of the trailer. That is where all the 'stuff' is for the back of the refrig.

This vent cover can be removed to see what is back there. You might have to clean out wasp nests, and spider webs. Clean it out and make sure the gas feeder tube is clean and gas can get thru it. There could be a dead bug clogging it.

To get the vent cover off you will see plastic gizzmos in the corners. Take a screw driver and twist them 90 degrees.
Wiggle the cover to loosen it and it should come off w/o too much trouble.

After you clean behind the refrig from outside the trailer try it again. Oh - make sure LP tank valves are open and may have to repeat a few times to purge air out of the system.
