I am having an intermittent problem with the landing gear jacks on an Excel 30 RSO. Occassionally when I am extending them there is a loud popping noise, like a gear skipping? The jacks are a single motor made by Atwood. The bevel and drive gears seem ok. don't have a clue about the clutch or motor gear bos as they are sealed units. Anyone have similar problems, ideas, solutions?

Thanks

Most jacks have a gear mechanism that drives the jacks above in a compartment. They are gear driven with one motor that operates both jacks at once. If the jacks get damaged or bent sometimes because of the heavier load on the motor they will slip a tooth or even shear off a pin. Check above the jacks themselves.

Go to http://www.aerocoachinc.com/ownManual.php
, select jacks and landing gear, then select your brand. This may be helpful.
