My friend has a 2000 Jayco fifth wheel. the fridge is a Norcold model #N841 and the serial is 801090GP. The fridge works on 120v, but when on propane it will ignite, but keep striking. This sounds like a thermal coupler, but I can not find one. Does any one have a manual or advice on what this problem might be or where to look. My fridge has one in plane sight. I'm not sure, but maybe this ignitor senses heat? The local dealer is no help. All they want to do is have me bring it in and pay them $150 just to diagnos then more $$$ to repair.

Thanks for any help that you might give.

ChallengerRV, welcoem to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. You should tell your friend to turn off the gas. disassemble the burner and clean the complete burner, orfice, ignitor/thermocouple, chimney flue and baffle. If this does not correct the problem, he could have a bad ignitor, board or just the wrong lp gas pressure. Good luck and keep us posted.

You may download the installation/troubleshooting manual for that make/model here if you haven't already solved the problem.

Before doing anything unplug ac an dc an let sit awile then plug in an an try to start.Sometimes board gets mixed up .If still no good shop for board my local rv supply had one. Also you must have 12v dc for refridg to work
