On our trip from North Carolina to Oregon the off door slide tore the seal on the outside near the rear of the coach. I called Carriage about the problem and they sent me 10' of the white seal and let me get it fixed locally. They had it for over a week before replacing the seal and when I got it back they had made no adjustments in the slide, so the same thing was going to happen again. I took the Cameo back in for adjustment and when I got it back later in the day. The guy working on it had been in touch with Carriage about the slide adjustment. It seems it is suppose to be lowered and he did all it would go but not enough to fix the problem. The guy at Carriage wanted him to make the adjustment holes long so it would go down he local RV guy and the guy at Carriage got into a argument over this as the local guy said will will leave a gap at the top of the slide. I am not sure as I am not a RV tech and know nothing much about the slides. Just looking at the slide it looks like the top of the slide toward the front is going in too far and the top of the back looks ok, but that is where it is tearing the outside seal. Along the bottom both ends at tight against the side of the coach, but the middle is out a little. I can stick my fingers between the side and the slide when the slide is in.
Anyone had this problem and know how to fix. I really don't want to take it back the the factory as it a long way for me to go.

No-one with experience on your RV has stepped up, so I will offer my meager advice. If you know the mfgr. of your slide mechanism you may download the installation/adjustment manual at Aero-Rv.com - Aerolite Ultra Lite RV Travel Trailer and Expandable Hybrid Campers I hope yours is listed.

Experience taught me few RV repair personnel are experienced with adjusting slide mechanisms accurately, or replacing slide-room seals properly.
Best of luck!

I think the main problem I got is with the guy working on my fiver. He does not like the way the Carriage slides are built. All slides except Carriage have a lip across the top and this he has issues with. There is a white piece of rubber that runs down the sides and this when the slide closes is being pushed out due to a piece of molding that runs against the sidewall. This is happing about six inches along the top part of the slide. ( i really need a picture to show this) I used some silicone glue along the insides of the molding to keep it from shifting the the outside and tearing. I checked all three slides and all are doing it to a lesser degree. We are going to Myrtle Beach Sunday and then down to Charleston, SC for a few days. By the time I get back I should see if this is going to work or not. If this does not work next year I guess I will run it back to Indiana and let Carriage handle it.

I just noticed your 5er is under warranty. You probably need to travel to the factory for repairs and adjustments; however, a local Carriage dealer/repair shop should be qualified to do this. If you don't like the present one visit another, with of course factory approval since they are already involved.
I am taking our 5er to the factory because I don't like what I heard from local repair shops.
