Only thing I don't like about my B & W 3000, so far

I recently change from a srw, short bed truck to a dually, got rid of my Superglide and put in a B&W Companion 3000 hitch. I have only used it one time and don't like the fact that I have to get in the truck bed to hook up and unhook the release arm. I used to be able to use 6x6 block to reach the release mechanism on the Superglide, but can't do this on the B&W. Other than this, so far, I like it.

I have a little 2-step stool that is the last thing packed in the belly that gives me plenty of reach to the lever and pin. I'm not a tall guy, just 5'9".

Just a technique.....you know how those are.

I just ordered one of the over the tire steps from Amazon and am hoping that will work.

Two thumbs up for the over the tire step. Got mine from Tractor Supply a couple of years ago. Works great. I have the same hitch as you and use the over wheel step when I hookup and un-hook my fifth wheel.

Don't forget to take it off your wheel when done. And be careful you don't pinch you hand when it folds up for storage. Don't ask me how I know about either because I have an issue with denial.
