Opinions on Hitch

I purchased a new 5th wheel last month the hitch I have in my truck is not rated high enough for my new trailer it is 19,000 pounds...I have been looking at Curt Q24 hitches they are rated at 24,000 pounds and pin weight limits on the hitch are well within my current weight limits...So does anybody know anything about this brand...

Curt is fine, it's a big name.
So your new trailer has a GVWR of 19K lbs? If so, you could get a Reese 20K hitch.

We have a Curt 16K Roller Hitch on our truck. It's very well made in America.
I like it.

What thickness and is it solid metal jaws in the Curt? I know B&W uses forged steel 1" thick jaws. Same as the Brinkley 32k head on my hitch.

Just researched it. The Curt used 1/2" jaws. B&W 1" jaws. Curt inferior to the B&W

Good way to really push the limit.

X2. Should never load a hitch to max.

Glenn the research I have done indicates there are two 1/2" clamping jaws that close one on top of the other...Making it a total of 1" clamping surface...I looked at one of them at a local RV dealer here in Maryland and the Q24 looks well engineered and constructed...The data sheet states 6000 lbs. pin weights capacity and 24,000 towing capacity...And I like that it is made in America...I think I'm going to buy one...

It is your money but a forged steel 1" jaw is much stronger. Curt's is not forged either.

Totally agree! Look at them side by side there is no comparison.

Maybe changing trucks in September

If things go as planned I will be trading my truck in September on a new Ram...I will then be getting a new hitch with the new truck, but for the time being I have too do a hitch upgrade...My current hitch is only a 16k Reese and I don't think I would be comfortable pulling 20,000 pounds with it...I foolishly pulled my MS from Ga.to Md. with that 16k hitch back in February...I know, you don't have to tell me that wasn't smart...But I got home safely with it...

I bought a Pull right Super 5th 18k hitch because I had got newer truck and that was best I could find and had to move. Pull rite informed me it is same hitch as the new 20k just re branded. Called after getting Teton and they said it was good for my weight and pin. ok. It sheared the bolts on the sides holding it together. Needlesss to say it opened my eyes to using hitches at max.
