Opposing Slides
I'm thinking of getting a new 5th wheel. At the moment we have one slide but I've been looking at some models that have opposing slides in the living area. I really like the space but my concern is with the widths of rv sites.
Does anyone who has a unit with opposing slides ever find it a problem/inconvience? If so how often, any regrets, or is the space worth any inconvience?

The space is great and I wouldn't have an RV without opposing slides in the living area. I've never had a problem with the width of RV sites. Never had any inconvenience because of them either.

We have a rig with opposing slides and have had no problems in CGs...and the room in the living room is amazing.

We found no problems
We visited 21 campgrounds in 2013 and had no problem with our opposing LR slides. The added space it gives us enabled us to downsize from a 38' to a 33' 5th Wheel with the same feeling of space in the living area.

Using our 5er with opposing slides for [going on] 9 years now. 5 of those years as a full timer. Never had an issue at any CG related to the slides.

Slide room in CG
Have one place we go that only has 16' wide sites. All OK except one slide has an awning that can't be fully extended and acts more like a window awning giving some shade at least. Others have never been a problem.

We have opposing slides fore and aft and have not found an rv site yet that didn't provide sufficient room. Our only gripe (if you want to call it that) is that with the slides in for traveling, it sure doesn't leave much room to walk from front to back. Ours is a bath and a half and with the rear opposing slides in, you have to crawl over the bed to get to the rear bath....really no big deal unless you want to take a shower.

Have four slides, two of which are opposing. I have not had any space problems on sites.

I love the open space. Now I no longer feel like I can't get around when someone else is standing in the living area. My only problem is that the carport I had built in my backyard for the TT I used to have is barely wide enough to extend both slides. The trailer has to be parked in exactly the right place.

Our rig has opposing slides in the LR. There have been a few campsites we could not utilize because of trees, but other sites were available in the campground, so no real problem. The area in the living room is great.

When I was looking to buy I really liked the opposing slides, the extra room would be very nice.
I wound up not buying that style for the same reason you gave, afraid I would not have room to open both slides.
I have been to one campground that there was just enough room to open one slide (want be going back), and I have encountered a few where the concrete picnic table gets in the way. But the vast majority of places we stay it would work fine.
I was also concerned about having access to everything with slides in while we traveled, that went in to my decision.
Happy camping either way!

We frequent State & COE parks and have opposing living room slides.
I have not had a problem extending both slides in any site.

The only thing we can't access with opposing slides is the living room; which we don't need unless parked for more than an over-night - then we just open the slides
