Overhang to Bed Clearance

First time 5th wheel owner. Purchased a new-to-me 2013 Palomino Sabre 32 foot this summer. Previous owner had a fairly short truck (05 ish GMC 2500). My truck is on the taller side (2014 Ram 2500 with leveling kit). Been playing with the pin box height as well as the ball hitch height on my Anderson hitch. My question - how much clearance do you recommend (or is there a formula) between the top of my bed rails and the bottom of the overhang? I am on the middle setting and the trailer tows fine but runs uphill a bit and would probably good to get a little more weight on the front axle.... Thanks in advance for suggestions.

My opinion is 6in bare minimum. If you can get 7 even better. Lots say 5in but if you ever do some rougher areas you will want more.

I agree with 6" minimum.

I also agree with the 6" bed to trailer clearance. Our short bed 2500 Silverado has our 5vr just a bit high in front, but not bad. It pulls fine. Axle weights are 40 lbs more on rear, but that could be the water tank is in the rear. So far no problems with clearance, even in Branson MO where everything is up and down... Just take your time if in unlevel places... Monkey
