Wow, that sounds great! Have you encountered any problems? How much have you traveled with that rig? What do you tow it with? Do you have 1 AC or two? We have preferred the 325, didn't really care for the non stationary island. What did you think of the island? What did you think of their quality control? Is is your impression that it will hold up to the rigors of the road based on what you saw in the factory and your own towing experience. Thank you so much for your input!

Have you encountered any problems?
Yes, but they were minor for the most part. I took care of most of them myself. Not untypical of a new model.
How much have you traveled with that rig?
We have been out about 7 times, the farthest being Atlanta, also Charleston; Virginia; Myrtle Beach: and the mountains of NC. Many road miles.
What do you tow it with?
I have a RAM 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel. It has no problem towing it. I installed air bags with my previous fiver which helps with the ride.
Do you have 1 AC or two?
I have two AC's. The front unit has been replaced with one that doesn't vibrate. This has been taken care of on the newer units.
We have preferred the 325, didn't really care for the non stationary island. What did you think of the island?
We like the mobile island. We have had 8 people visiting one time so we were able to move it to make room. I wish the garbage can access was on the other side, though.
What did you think of their quality control?
Ours is an early unit. The QC has improved alot at the factory. This was a topic of discussion when I spoke with the managers from Columbus. They have been very receptive of my problems and have stepped up to take care of them. As mentioned, being an early built unit, I expected some problems. At least they are taking care of them.
Is is your impression that it will hold up to the rigors of the road based on what you saw in the factory and your own towing experience.
Ask me this next year. It's too early to tell.
We had a Sabre and upgraded to the Columbus. It's a great unit with many amenities that come standard. We really liked the 365RL, but it was too much for my truck. We're looking forward to doing a lot of camping this Fall around NC.
Thank you so much for your input!
You're welcome. If you decide on a Columbus, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We get positive comments at every campground about our 320RS.

What can I say but an awesome post! We saw the Columbus320 in South Dakota this summer and went back and forth to the dealer several days in row because it looked so good and seemed to be so well constructed. Forest River backing has not hurt Palomino! Down the road was a lot full of Redwoods and in many respects the Columbus 320 outshined the Redwood, I'm quite sure the Redwood overall was probably the better unit. At any rate, The 320 was very impressive and very impressively priced. Our intention has been to get a larger unit but we were interested in the quality more than the price as we are now considering "full timing", hence the durability and quality control questions. This summers heat caused us to realize that AC is more important than heat with respect to "4 season" capability as we expect to spend more time in the warm! We live in Montana now. I tow with a 2011 Dodge 3500 6.7 srw and has done very well with the Arctic Fox which is a fantastic unit. So now we're considering Hitchhikers, Excels, Arctic Fox and still the Palomino Columbus is in our thoughts. That is a broad range of prices and reputations, Isn't it. Thank you so much for you excellent response and I will look forward to hearing from you as time goes buy, I can imagine that we will conclude our search later in the year as I work at sea! My wife absolutely thought the Columbus was the nicest rig she had seen, that counts for a bunch in our family! Thanks!!

Hi. I just ordered a 365RL. I noticed you are fulling with an F250. I am going to pull with a F250 srw 6.7 diesel. Do you have any problems pulling it. It looks like the pin weight is very close to the 320. Thanks for any help you can give me. I am even taking off the spare tire and putting on the carrier on back of unit to let me have more weight. Ha!
