Pin box Repair
Anyone have any recommendations for a welding/RV shop in Arizona that can repair/add support to a 5th wheel pin box? We are in Lake Havasu, but can travel, The trailer is a 2011 Cameo and the #8 screws on the underside of the front cap on the molding strip seem to back out after a long tow and some are now a little loose in the holes. A couple of actually sheared off. There is no fiberglass cracking and there seems to be no change in the joints/seams when hooked up or unhooked-yet.

You might want have someone looking to see if your pinbox is moving around while you're towing. If so, that would require opening up the front cap to see if your frame needs support/rewelding.

Yes, I understand the front cap may need to come off to repair. I need to find out if there is a place in AZ that does that type of work. Thx

I would be pulling the belly pan and also checking the frame very closely for broken welds etc. This is caused from frame flex that should not be there

Replace all of those Grade 8 bolts. And they should be torqued to around 200 ft/lbs.

If I understood it is not the bolts that is a problem, but the #8 screws under the overhang. Those coming loose usually have nothing to do with the. Pin box or framing. I have seen where the seal on the Corner trim let's waterr in which allows the wood inside to rot. I would pull the fiberglass under the overhang and have a look.

Looks like you're having a tough time getting a direct answer to your question . Best I could do was a search and found this outfit. Likely they might not want to tear down the front of a fifth wheel, but they can probably direct you to someone in the area who can. Good luck.

A good RV dealership with service bays will know how to remove everything for inspection and they can then get a certified mobile welder to come over for frame inspection and possible repairs. They can then put it back together.
When mine was done, while the dealer did remove everything to loosen the front cap, they didn't physically remove it. They just tilted it up and propped it up with a 2ft length of 2x4 resting on the top of the pin box.
