Just picked up a screw in my tire. Amazing how that works. Anyone ever plug a trailer tire. My 5er weighs in at 10k. Tires are almost new and hate to rid a good tire.

Plugging a tire is not good for the tire. Removing it from the wheel and patching from the inside is by far the best way to repair a tire and the way all GOOD tire shops do it. Plugging can cause tread seperation

Thanks Cummins hot rod,
I will ensure that they do that at a minimum. I notice that you have a 97 dodge ctd. What mods have you done. I have a 97 dually and with my 10k 5er find it a little doggy. I think I am alittle over the max tow. What are you towing and have you had problems with weight issue before. Thanks....I am new can you tell

For everything you would ever like to know about your Dodge Cummins, visit http://www.turbodieselregister.com There is more info on that site than you can read in years and generally a great bunch of people. You can very easily get more power out of your '97 for a surprizingly little amount of money. Just be careful if it's an automatic and be sure to put a pyrometer in it before any mods are done to the engine.

I picked up a screw in my front tire on my truck. None of the local tire dealers would plug it, they would only patch it from the inside. But because it was too close to where the tread met the sidewall, they told me it could not be patched because it would not hold being to close to the flex point of the tire.

My mods are injectors, fuel plate and GOV spring kit and air cleaner. And expensive clutch. My 5er is in the 11,000 range and ol Cummins has no problems with at all. E mail me for more info.

We had a slow leak. Got tired of trying to find it. Pulled into a farm machinery shop out in the middle of nowhere. Found a small finishing nail part embedded in middle of tread. They pulled it into the inside with a pair of fence pliers, put a patch on it (inside), and about 16k miles later, all is still well.

This is on a "G" rated 110psi tire. So it can be done.
