Possible shower drain leak ??

We are getting about a tablespoon of water showing up on the floor from under a bedroom wall that is near the shower stall. It doesn't show up right away either - about 15-30 minutes or so after a shower. There is no water on the exterior base of the shower that it is coming from. Could this possibly be the shower drain leaking (it would be at about the same level) and, if so, how do we resolve the problem ??? Husband is not even sure how to remove the drain after unscrewing the catch plate on top of the drain inside the shower. We don't want to break anything or make matters worse. We can't find any dripping or leaking or any wet spots in the basement to indicate leaking there. This water doesn't show up every time we use the shower either. Husband thought maybe water could even be getting behind the shower faucets perhaps when we shower.

He has checked the water lines for the shower and they were dripping some before (which we discovered by a tiny amount of water showing up in any extra empty laundry basket sitting under the water lines in the basement) but he tightened those up last weekend and we have had no more leaking from them since.

If you cannot find any access into the suspect area, you might consider renting a "bore-scope" normally used by gunsmiths to inspect the bore of a gun. You may drill a small hole near the area, thread the bore-scope into the hole and inspect the pipes for seepage. If/when you locate the leak, you will need to remove a panel for repairs. This will also remove the hole you drilled. When you replace the paneling with a new one it will appear original. OR, you might hang a picture over the tiny hole(s).
