The bedroom slide quit working on my 2000 Fleetwood Savannah. Upon pulling the slide motor, parts #520430, I opened the case and found a nylon gear inside that has the teeth stripped from it. Upon contacting Power Gear, there is no replacement kit for these motors. Yet I feel there must be an outlet some place that would have one of these nylon gears. Has anyone else encountered this problem, or does anyone have any advice on how to resolve my problem? I have contacted Power Gear about a replacement motor, but have not heard back from them as of yet. I have heard that could be an expensive solution to the problem.
I appreciate your help.

I once had a machine shop make a gear for me for a somewhat different hunk of hardware....
Alas, short of finding out who made the motor, and where they got the gear, a custom machine shop and a metal gear may be your only option.

If you can get the particulars for the gear you need there are several places you can nylon gears. Here is one, but there are many more out there. Again it's just a matter of identifying what you have. I think a having one made would be cost prohibitive.

In case you need it I uploaded the Power Gear Slide Service/ Parts Manual to the Misc. File catalog. Looks to me like there is a kit for your needs.

Thanks for your suggestion. I can understand the reason for putting nylon gears in these motors, but sometimes they don't work as well as metal ones. I will look into that option.

The "File" dropdown menu on the Users Toolbar. Under Misc. PM me if you cannot find it and I'll email it to you.

Many of these 12V slide motors are generic in nature. Perhaps you can try phoning some RV Salvage

Barker Manufacturing make the motors for our alpenlite. You can look them up on the net.
