I have a 2005 33FT 5th wheel Thor Transporter (toyhauler), and the top of the passenger side cabinet has come loose. The bay window is just below the cabinet so I pulled the window frame expecting to see studs but all I saw was styrofoam sandwhiched between two pieces of thin wood. I bought a stud finder the detects metal but when I ran a screw into where there was supposed to be a stud there was not. Can anyone help me?

you geussed it they just run them screws right through the 1/4" wal board and no real anything behind em.
what you need to do it look on the outside of the trailer in the early morning and see where the dew settles on the sidewalls, where there is no mositure you have a stud, either alum or wood, thats where you can drill and install a screw inside to hold up the cabinet
i had to do it for several of my kitchen cainet mounts crews they ran these huge 2" long screws into air and expected them to hold

EAB, you probably know this, but in case you don't, you can use a moly bolt fastener or a toggle bolt to refasten your cabinet. Downside tho, is both require a bigger hole to be drilled before they can be inserted to expand.

Update: My wife called Thor (what a novel idea) and asked them where the studs are. Well, there arent any studs per-say, but there are supports mounted in the walls. The guy faxed my wife a picture of the setup and you have to measure from certain points to find the supports. There is more to this story, but I'll wait till I can elaborate more on the situation.

OK here's the update, when I talked to Thor they said that if they did 'miss' the support they would cover it even though it was out of warrenty. I took it into my dealer and they got it all taken care of under a warrenty claim.

And oh, I brought it in to the dealer on the 9th and I brought it home today! I thought it would be weeks before I saw it again.
