1. To purge the line, I crack the fitting befor the valve. Got gas? Yes. Tighten fitting and leak test fitting with soap solution. 2. Turn on switch and quickly go outside. In a few seconds you should hear the gas valve click on and the ignitor snapping. If you do not hear light clicking from the board, it is probably bad. Check the connector on the board. Google Dinasour electronic boards for the nearest dealer. I find Dinasour boards are much better than OEM. for WH, Frig or heater.

The fact the valve is not opening and board not igniting, could be board, or total lots of 12v power.
More things need to be checked.
