Pulled the trigger

Well, Sunday we pulled the trigger on our first ever 5th wheel. It's a 2006 29 ft McKenzie Starwood. We are really excited, I bought a superglide auto sliding hitch and hope to be able to get it installed into my truck Monday or Tuesday of next week, then pick up the trailer the following week.
We did a trip to Colorado a couple weeks ago and the "quality" of some of the hotels just pushed us further towards getting the 5th wheel.
We will be towing with our 2018 Ram Megacab that has the Cummins Diesel in it.
I guess I should also say that "we" includes my wife, my 1 year old son, and I.

Love that last picture, best one I've seen in a long time posted here. Looks like a true RV'er in the making. We have a rear kitchen and love it. More counter space and elbow room not to mention having separate rooms so to speak. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW FIVER.

Got your travel plans made?

I didn't get as early a start as Charlie but I still remember the trips even after 60 years.

Nice rig!

We also have a rear kitchen and like it. Full disclosure this is our first 5er so not a lot to compare it to. That said, it's great for us.

Good looking rig there Josh! Congrats! We’re picking our first 5th wheel this coming Wednesday and we’re stoked so I know how you feel. Happy trails!

That looks really clean and you have a truck with lots of reserve capacity to tow it with. Nice! Enjoy every trip. My 2 girls, who are now young adults, always talk about the many, many camping adventures we did as a family when they were growing up, starting when they were just a year old too. It is some of their very fondest childhood memories. Can't get that vacationing in hotel rooms

No big plans yet, honestly we just did a trip to Colorado that cemented the decision for us, hoping to get hitch mounted Tuesday then pick it up NEXT Monday, maybe due a quick lake trip the following week. I work 12 hour night shifts Thurs Fri Sat every other Wednesday so....
