Pullrite Sliding Hitch question

Is there a locking mechanism to secure the sliding hitch when not in use? Something to keep the hitch from moving around every time you make a turn.

There's a big adjuster that the black block rests against with the hitch in rest position (straight ahead)...that adjuster just needs to be tight enough to keep the hitch centered.....and to eliminate it swinging on it's own...

Every time you make a turn the pullright hitch DOES slide, by design. That's the way it works going forward or backwards.

From the Owners Manual Page 12

ADJUSTING THE TURNTABLE CAM ARM ASSEMBLY
This adjustment will need to be made periodically. If you are experiencing a bump or “clunk” when starting or stopping, or if the hitch is sliding up and down the way tubes when you are not hooked up to the trailer you can perform this adjustment to reduce the noise and keep the hitch in the forward towing position when not trailering.

1. The Turntable Cam Arm Roller {C2} needs to be kept snug against the rear edge of the of the Cam Slot (see below).

2. To adjust, loosen the Jam Nut located on the Threaded Stop Assembly {E1}, under the Fifth Wheel Plate {A} (on the side facing the cab of your truck).

3. Adjusting the Threaded Stop Assembly’s hex-shaped plate, will remove excessive play from between the Cam Slot and the Turntable Cam Arm Roller.

4. Turn the hex-shaped plate of the Threaded Stop Assembly by hand, adjusting incrementally, until it is difficult to pull the Turntable/Cam Arm Assembly by hand, into the angled Cam Slot. While holding the hex-shaped plate in place, tighten the Jam Nut with a wrench.

Back when I was using a Pull-Rite I used bungee cords to keep it from sliding and banging around when running empty. My bed cover protected the hitch.

Happy trails,

I use a bungee cord to keep our Pullright 24k slider from moving around, works well and no more moving during turns.

I’ve got a load strap holding it in place and also using one on those woodworking clamps across the rails I’ll take a look at Pg 12 again to see if I can’t get it under control that way.

Thanks!
