Question from a newbie :)

I have a new 5th wheel being made for me. I expected to have it finished and delivered by now. Today I heard from the representative that the trailer is "off the line", and that they will let me know when it is ready.

Anybody have any idea what that means exactly? Would you guess it's a couple of days, or a couple of weeks out. I'm getting super frustrated. Thanks for the time.

Sounds like finishing touches. Inspection, water test if they do one.

Thanks for the reply. I sure hope you're right. They've been dragging me along for months.

Have you asked them what that means to them?

I would have, but it's a long story. We only communicate through our respective attorneys.

Doesn't sound good or cheap with attorneys involved...

Yikes, yeah sorry to hear that. Sounds like a very strained relationship.

With some manufactures "off the line" could mean actual assembly of the frame, structure, and main components complete, prior to paint and finishing fittings. Custom options installed by other vender(s) to follow, PDI. Lot's of variables possible.
Then schedule for transport. These folks are busy too!
Rough guess, weeks to... month+.

We've heard most manufactures are running at capacity and are having a good yr. Many are approx. a month behind on production delivery schedules.

Of course if you're in litigation I understand. "New 5th wheel being made for me" sounds like a high end limited production coach? Is it a manufacturer we've heard of?

Best wishes.

Thank you. I'll wait until the dust settles on this lawsuit before I release any details, but it's definitely a big name in RVs. They have now spent OVER 4 months producing me a trailer.
