Quick - need to know how to winterize washer

I am all done with the normal winterization steps, drain hot water, run both hot and cold faucets until you see pink. Do the outside shower...all went according to plan.

Now for the stacked washer. Can't seem to get it to suck anti-freeze from the gallon jug. Was going to wash a white scrape towel until I saw it was pink. Then shut iff the washer. But like I said...water pump is on but no anit-freeze is being used. The washer trys to start but then shuts off.

Does the washer need to be winterized?

As you winterize, the washer requires a specific method to prevent ruining the pump and valves. While the plumbing is pressurized with RV anti-freeze, select hot water on the temperature selector, select rinse cycle, turn on washer. Allow it to run until you see pink anti-freeze in the drum, shut off washer. Turn selector to spin and allow washer to drain, shut off. Repeat these steps after selecting cold water. You are done winterizing the washer.
P.S. You cannot winterize a washing machine using air pressure instead of RV anti-freeze.

I downloaded the manual today. The last day of nice weather here for awhile. The manal instucts to put 1 qt. of anti-freeze in the drum and run it on the Spin/Drain cycle. So that is what I am doing as I write this. Wanted to have this all figured out and done yesterday but hey, it is what it is. It is done today.

Thanks for all the responses.

P.S. yesterday it was getting dark in an hour that is why I needed a quick response.

Now for lows at night at 28 degrees...brrr

I do not like this time of the season.

that will work for the pump in the washer but you still have to get the pink stuff thru the water lines going into the washer...

I did a quick wash with warm water selection running air through the line instead. Our washer has a spin / drain cycle. I ran that while putting air through the lines also and it blew out the water. After it was finished I put about 1/3 gal pink in drum and did the same thing again.
Sure hope it works!
