Continued.. same truck towing 7 yrs used slider 2times. Once you hook up just have someone watch as you turn left and right and back up also and check you angle. Certain trailers you do not even need a slider.

Well, I was going to pick up my Ram Mega Cab in April at Dave Smith, but pulled the plug on it, not because of the truck, but because of the poor quality of the vast majority of todays trailers! To make the long story short, I kept my 04 Ram short bed to pull the lessor of the evils, I installed a B&W Goose Neck with plans of dropping in the B&W Companion Slider. Then, I stumbled upon the the Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch. Andersen says the off set is more than the 4" I come up with They tell me it will turn 90* to the truck. I opted for this hitch because it is 240 lbs. lighter than the B&W slider and a kid can install and remove it alone! At half the price of a sider, I'm giving it a shot. Now that I own one, im seeing them more and more of them on the road. Guess the word is getting out. The B&W will take two people to install and remove.

I guess if push comes to shove, there is the option of the extended Pin Box.

Ram mega cab ?
I too, have the Anderson Ultimate, and a big 5er. I can back it into a pretty tight spot. Never been quite 90 degrees... but, it'll do it. Like you said. So simple, a caveman can do it!

I towed 2 big 5ers thousands of miles with a 2015 Mega Cab and an Andersen Ultimate. Great truck and a great hitch!
Last December we traded our problem-ridden Lifestyle for a Mobile Suites. Unfortunately, the Mega Cab wouldn't work with the Mobile Suites due to the bulbous front cap and the pin box being set back under the overhang. Had to tow it from the dealer with the tail gate down. We replaced the Mega Cab with a RAM long bed. Still using the Andersen, though.
Happy trails,

It works
Thanks guys for the replays! And BTW Ram does make three sizes of beds at least In 2014 they did. There is 8"---6'3"---5'7". The Mega Cab shortbed I'd 6" shorter than my crewcab was. But I have an auto slider and it works like a charm. Thanks again

Slider hitch is built for short bed. I have a 2015 megacab and a 5th wheel. Some 5ers have more clearance than others, but the sliding hitch is all you need. Get an auto-slider if you're forgetful.
