Rear Jacks hang low

We recently purchased a 2007 Select Suites that we will be living in full-time. The rear hydraulic jacks hang very low, and were bent when we bought it. We've had them repaired, but are concerned that the issue will continue. Has anyone had issues with this kind of problem, and if so, how did you deal with or fix the problem? We are new to the RVing lifestyle so will welcome any assistance we can get. If you found a solution to our issue, pictures of your "fix" would be helpful.

Would it be possible for you to take a few photos of the problem and post them?

I'm guessing the original bent condition was caused by the previous owner driving over a dip without taking into account the extra travel of the "overhang" behind the axle(s). Yep, one of thise guys was me. My fix didn't need any pictures - I just had to remember to watch for anything that might cause the overhang to drag.

I've come close on our rig once. This happened to us pulling the rig out of a storage area at a campground in Seattle. We had to pull forward and off a curb onto another driveway. I bent our diamondplate mudflaps but luckily the difference in height wasn't enough to contact the rear legs. Don't know how to avoid such situations other than to be careful. If you see a situation and have the opportunity, putting some lumber out to reduce the amount of drop would do the job. I've mentally filed that one away if there's a next time.

You should post this question on the Suites owners forum, www.suitesowners.com. You can register with your Suite's number (last 4 digits of your vin #) and ask any question of actual owners. We bought a 2007 Select Suite new and yes, that was the way the back jacks were built, really low. Don't know if there is a solution but other Suite owners may be able to help
