Receiver attachment for Fifth wheel neck

I saw a fifth wheel camper in the Grand Canyon last year that had a 2" reciever on the neck. They had a bike rack in it. I'm not having any luck finding one of those online. It bolted to the top of the neck and a angle ajustment to level for the bike rack. If one was to make one and make it strong enough to hold a generator rack, is there a issue or problem with putting that weight up on the neck like that.

Your idea has been used on many fifth wheel pin boxes. I can't remember which rving forum where I saw the thread, but the guy posted pictures of his pin box-mounted genset. The only drawback is if you are close to your truck's maximum carrying capacity for pin weight, have a short bed, or have a specialty pin box.

Thanks Ray,IN
You gave me the right terminology, Pin Box. I have been able to find details and pictures now. Looks like you have to build the reciever haven't found them for sale retail yet.

The receiver tube may be purchased by itself from a hitch installer. It is the basic 2" ID sq tube-available in different lengths. The same hitch installer should be capable of performing the work involved. Depending upon the design of the pin box, they may be able to fit it into the front of the box nearly flush with the surface.
