Receiver change

Have a heavy motorized receiver with gearbox in my shortbed GMC. (Husky 16k Power Roller) Can extend, retract several inches from cab. Seldom needed. Thing weights a ton - two men and a donkey to remove/replace +8 pins to align. With tool box and this darn reciever, no usable bed space when not hauling. Like to have a usable truck.

5th wheel is 36 Outback and only 12,000 loaded. What kind of plain Jain receiver can I get that is safe, light and easly removed when not in use?

Reese has a simple 15k manual slider for under $400, just don't forget to slide when you need to.

Check out B&W hitches--quality and head removes for easier handling.
Guess I have never heard of the hitch you have--

'17 F450--trying one more Ford

I'm using the Pull-Rite Super Slider with under bed rails. When removed, it leaves only 4 half dollar sized holes in the bed . The hitch weighs around 250 lbs. Their propaganda said "easily removable" . . . Ya Right!! . . . Easily removable for two guys and a mule maybe . . .

I've taken it out once by myself (and put it back in). Yep, it can be done as a one man job . . . but I wouldn't recommend it! Seriously, with one or two other people to help, the removal and replacement would probably be fairly easy. The process is simple.

In my garage I have found my ceiling rafters and put 2 pulleys attached in 4 locations. Back my truck in the garage hook up and lift hitch off. One man on and off.
