Anyone have any experience with a Redwood Rv...in particular the 36RE or 36RL?

I looked at them and liked what I seen, but have no real experience.

We like the looks of the redwood also - just not the price. Saw one used only once that dropped the price $30,000.... Keep us posted if you find out anything about them - pro and con. We have a 2006 Grand Junction and want to upgrade to a newer one sometime soon.

We are looking at one to full-time in also. Would love to see some pros and cons from actual owners. Hoping to see an actual Redwood Owners forum one of these days, heard a rumour that Redwood will be starting one in the next month or so, I sure hope so. I have seen posts from people like us, and have actually posted, looking for info on them. Like you, I want to know if they are all hype and eye-candy, or are they (almost) as good as they say? We are newbies, and are afraid of getting stuck with a lemon. But they have a great warranty 2+5 compared to most others.

Not out there long enough for anyone to form an opinion, that's my thoughts.

We should be the proud owners of a 36RL by the middle of next week if all goes well - will keep you posted on how the experience goes. WE are definitely impressed by the interior, and the chassis and the hardware should be good. We'll see...

We're going to look around while we are visiting Texas in the next few weeks - just thinking of upgrading but love our Grand Junction.

Did you ever purchase the Redwood RV. If you have, I would love to know what you think about the Redwood. We are thinking of purchasing the Redwood 36 Front Living RV. Thank you

I just purchased at 2012 Redwood 36RE. So far I am very impressed. Originally I was in the market for a Cameo 36FWS, but after seeing the Redwood and after hearing that Carriage closed it factory last week due to financial issues I decided to go with the Redwood.

We just picked up our Redwood 36RL. We were lucky enough to find a used unit. Full body paint and love it so far. Hard to find a better looking rig. I`ve ordered the Michelin 17.5 j rated tires and wheels. We traded in a 3400RL Montana with the Goodyear e rated 16" tires that were not much better than an inner tube. We blew 6 out in the first year with around $4000 in trailer damage. Not going to take the chance with the Redwood. Larry

I looked at them at a dealer a couple of weeks ago. The one thing that I did not like was that all of running gear was made by Lippert. JMO

Sorry to hear about your experience with E-Rated Goodyears - That is the first I have heard of any such problems. We have a 36FB on order with full body paint. Did your dealer provide any advice regarding the care and maintenance of the paint finish - Particularly removing baked-on dead bugs off the nose of the unit without getting swirl marks and/or otherwise damaging the deep dark rich paint finish??? Also, just out of curiosity... the 36RL we looked at appeared to have had gotten four layers of paint on the piano hinge for the driver's side basement door - After opening and closing it several times... the paint finish appeared to be getting scraped off the hinges... Have you experienced the same??? We too are trading in a Montana (3750FL). I agree with your assessment of the Redwoods... Hard to find a better looking rig.

One thing to consider is air circulation in a front living room. We are in the process of trading in our 2011 Montana 3750 (front living room) for a 2012 Redwood 36FB (full bath). Even with two air conditioners running continuously... we were never able to get enough cool air into the living room of the Montana to make it comfortable - while you could 'hang meat' in the rear bedroom. Similarly... it was near impossible to heat the the front living room with just the furnace - needed to run the electric fireplace too. Another consideration is having to navigate the steps on each/every trip between the front living room and the kitchen, bath, and entrance door...
So for us, Redwood's big kitchen/living/dinig area all on the same level (and huge shower too) won out over Montana's front living room and five small compartmentalized slides.
