We are awaiting delivery of our new rig, a 2007 Silverback 35L4QB, and we are already thinking of ways to change it. Since this is a bunkhouse unit we doubt very much if we would ever need to use the fold out bed in the living room area. So we are thinking of removing the guts from the couch and using the space for storage. Has anyone tried this or even heard of anyone who tried it? If so how did it work out? Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

We have seen a couple of units that people have done the exact same thing. They pulled out the mattress and used a wood platform for converting the area into a storage box. From looking at the couch from the outside, it looked and sat on normal, but remove the cushions and it was a huge storage box.

I guess this will be among my first Honey do chores. Nancy, I hope Bill doesn't hold a grudge. Thanks for the responses.

wow what a great idea.
i hate my sofa bed its UNFREAKINGcomfortable in a bad way.
was thinking about replacing it with a jack knife sofa, but a storage bx would be a plus as well. and loose some precious weight out back
