Removing Slide Toppers?

Hello, we recently bought a used 5th wheel with carefree of Colorado slide toppers. We are living in our rv and the wind noise is unbearable. I'd like to keep everything installed incase we decide later that we like them. Can I just remove the fabric? Is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks,
Jake

You can view how to disconnect the awnings on "Youtube". Have you tried using either a beach ball or inflatable swimming pool float between the fabric and top? There is a product called Awning Airwedge that works also. It is a nuisance but the covers do protect the top of the slide. Give the above suggestions a try before you disconnect. Hope you get it straightened out

Had a trailer w/two slides and no toppers and would never be without them again. We've four slides on our Montana, all with toppers, and don't have that much wind noise. Unless you've over 20mph wind all the time, it's possible your toppers weren't installed with enough tension or the springs have relaxed.

You can use stryofoam pool noodles put between slide roof and topper. Or use cheap pool air mattresses.

We're in North Dakota, for the past 4 days we've had 30mph winds with large gusts. I just want some sleep. Lol. We'll be parked here for a year and really need to get this problem solved

You can go to Carefree's web site and they have instructions on installing their slide toppers. This will help you understand what is needed to remove them if tightening them up doesn't solve your issues.
