Renewing the steps
The steps are hard to keep nice-looking. The paint fades, and the moving parts tend to discolor and rust. I almost spray painted mine, but fortunately I waited. I bought this product by accident (meaning to blacken the plastic running boards and other parts of my TV), and found it did a good job sprucing up the steps. The metal and the grip surface are looking good now with just a squirt. The product has black coloring.

Nice! Ours have road rash from Alaska and will have to be repainted before we can use a product like that. Maybe we can keep them looking nice after repainting.

Looks nice! How do you think it would it work on exposed parts of the frame and the pin box?

It will help, but it doesn't have very much color. It's very thin. It helped my pin box where the weld beads collected water and dirt.
By the way, I grabbed this stuff thinking it was black plastic restorer. It won't work for that and is made to shine up black paint.

It sounds like it will spruce things up temporarily if they're not too bad to begin with; but it's kind of like the black plastic renewal products - they only last a month or 2 depending on the rain and sun exposure.

You are correct most likely. After a few days and some exposure they still look really nice. I think some of the appeal of this is because there is no effort involved. You just point and squirt for a few seconds and improve a rough-looking area.
You guys know what it's like trying to wax or polish that curving, formed metal. It's impossible to get into all the creases. But the spray covers all.
