Hello All,

I need some help !!

I have a 2001 Starcraft TravelStar 23RBS. It has a soft floor when you step into the door and around where the front table is.

Here is what I have done so far, I have taken out all of the front benches and water tank. It looks to me like there are two floors, one on the bottom of the trailer, and 1/2 gap, that the waterline, electric run through, and then another floor.

Has anyone ever replaced the top floor of the camper? I just wanted to replace the part that is soft, around the door and table area.

If so, I would love to speak with you, to see how you did it.

Thanks in advance for all your help !!

First off, sonething is causing the problem. Check for water leaks. You have to remember that the floor is the first thing put down in an RV, so barring taking the entire trailer apart, just carefully inspect for how extensive the damage is, cut a few test holes to look for joists. Cut back the rotted flooring to as close to the joists as you can get. At this point if you cannot get on top of a joist, just sister another one next to the original one that you will be able to screw the new wood onto. Then it is just a matter of building the floor back to the proper height and figuring out what to recover it with. Should never have happened to a 5 year old trailer, but maybe that is why they are no longer in business?
