The R. mirror glass on my 3500 fell out and broke. Yesterday I stopped at a local Dodge dealer and inquired about a replacement glass. The only replacement for it is a new mirror (Complete to the door) at a price of $274+ tax. I am thinking it will be cheaper in the long run to replace both with remote mirrors. I'm afraid the other mirror will fall out and it will cost me $600. Since a replacement glass is not available maybe Dodge has decided the first ones were a bad design and changed the design on later ones. The parts man said some are replaceable and some are not. What I need now is info (good or bad). What & where to buy. After market, wrecking yards etc. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Check on line at Geno's Garage or Sumitt Racing, both have towing mirrots (Cipa) in manual and electric. There is also power vision electric mirror set that are pretty good. I'm using CIPA, and very happy with them. A friend had a '98 3500 we put a set on last year, he pulls a 5er and said he wouldn take for them. They are large and easy to use.

First of all, a local glass shop such as Binswanger Glass can replace your mirror glass for a very reasonable price. If you want to go with heated, electrically adjustable, electrically extendable and retractable towing mirrors, take a look at the PowerVision mirror. I use them and am very happy with them.

Just what I was going to say. I replaced mine in an old chevy for about $10/ea. JR

Update
First, Thanks for the advice.
I finally had time to do something about the mirror. I went to a local Auto Glass shop about 3 miles from home. He ordered a new mirror and the next day they installed it. It cost $10.86. What a deal.
