replacing cargo door

My tailgate fell down and busted up the cargo door in the front of my 5th wheel. The frame wasn't damaged by the fiberglass is history. Anyone out there got any suggestions for fixing this one? Thanks, Doug

Do you have enough of the original fiberglass piece to use as a template? If not, use a nice piece of cardboard to make a template of the original fiberglass insert, them buy a sheet of FRP board from Home Depot, Lowes, etc... trace your pattern on the FRP, then cut out and sand the edge, install in the frame with a good bead of sealant to seat it and make it water tight (FRP is usually textured) and now you have a nice repaired door.

If the FRP does not feel firm enough, treat a piece of Luan board with Minwax Wood Hardener and then glue it across the back of the FRP panel.

Fiberglass Reinforced Panel. Its a prefinished 4x8 sheet of fiberglass wall covering material, used commonly in commercial settings for bathrooms or other wet places.

Sells for around $30 a sheet at Lowes/Home Depot. Usually comes in either a creme white, or brilliant white.

Another possibility, if the frame is "ok", and you have just a major dent, Several places sell .080 Diamond plate with an adhesive backing, you could cut to fit and cover the existing door. "giant" Chrome bandaid...
