Replacing carpet

We're interested in switching out the carpet in our 5er and wonder if anyone knows someone in the Tulsa-OKC area who does that? Has anyone attempted it himself and, if so, how did it work out?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

When you say "switch out the carpet"... do you mean replace it with new carpet or with a hard floor surface?

Many (including me) have replaced their carpet with hard surface flooring and I don't think I can remember a single person indicating any regrets.

It is certainly a DIY project which a reasonably competent handyman can accomplish. If you have slides involved it does add to the complexity so use our search feature and your find a lot of reading material on this subject.

Best of luck.

I am currently in the process of replacing the floor coverings in the whole trailer. The bathroom, I did myself. The other areas, bedroom and livingroom/kitchen involve slideouts. The slideouts need to come out or out past their normal range of travel in order to wrap the carpet around and under the trailer floor and slideout. Re the kitchen the slideout needs to be pulled out in order to replace the tiles under the slide rollers.
